Hypnotherapy involves someone being guided into a relaxed state known as trance. Once in a state of trance, it is possible to communicate directly with your subconscious mind which is the part of your brain that is actually running the show, without having to overcome the conscious and logical part of your brain. As a result of this, I am able to very quickly reset whatever deep held beliefs or behaviours that have been causing your issues, no matter how long they have been stuck there.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in itself is a very effective method of changing thought patterns and behaviours through the use of language and a variety of techniques that does not require you to be in a state of trance.
I use both separately but often combine the two in order to get you the best results, depending on what is right for you.
At Breakthrough Coaching I use your initial consultation to determine what the most appropriate course of action will be for you personally. As I do not work in a ‘one size fits all’ way, I specialise, and pride myself, in figuring out the best way to help you as quickly as I can to give you permanent results. The answer to this, is yes. Everyone, provided they are open to the experience and not deliberately trying to resist, can be hypnotised, however, not everyone is capable of reaching the same depth of trance. For most of the work that I do though, you won’t need to go into the deeper levels of trance anyway. Believe it or not, when you find yourself getting absorbed in a good movie or ‘zoning out’ when you are driving or doing a repetitive task, this is actually a light state of trance.
It is also important to note that there are many different types of hypnotic inductions and they do not all work on everyone. The types of quick inductions that you may have seen used in in stage hypnosis are not effective on a lot of people.
At Breakthrough Coaching, I generally use a 'Progressive Relaxation Induction' which is the most robust type and will work on everyone, provided they engage with the process.

In the last few years there have been huge developments in the world of hypnotherapy due to the ever-increasing understanding of our brains. What I refer to as ‘old school hypnosis’ is most likely what you would have experienced before as it is still commonly used by many therapists, particularly if their intention is to build a base of returning clients. This style of hypnotherapy, while not wrong, and can be appropriate in certain circumstances, works on the basis of replacing the issue rather than resetting and removing the root cause. As such, it isn’t uncommon for people who have received ‘old school hypnosis’ to either have ineffective or short term results, or to simply switch one damaging behaviour for another, like stopping smoking but overeating instead.
At Breakthrough Coaching, I reset rather than replace. This means that I address the root issue that is actually responsible for your problem. It’s a bit like doing a factory reset on your phone to return it to ‘good as new’ condition rather than simply downloading another app that just takes up space and makes your phone less effective and slower in the future.

Through the use of hypnosis and NLP I am able to treat a huge number of issues including anxiety, fears and phobias, IBS, tinnitus, insomnia, addictions such as food, gambling and smoking as well as any other sorts of limiting or self sabotaging type behaviours. Essentially, any ‘software’ issue in your brain can be reset by use of effective hypnotherapy and NLP.
Due to my experience as a personal trainer and my sporting interests, I predominantly focus on areas such as weight loss, motivation and building healthy habits, improving relationships with food and exercise, and sporting performance.

As I work primarily via Zoom, I am able to help people all around the world from the comfort of their own space.
For your appointment there is very little you need to do to prepare. Once you have attended your initial consultation and booked in for your appointment, I will begin preparing your personalised session.
Before your appointment you will receive a reminder email from my booking system, Calendly, which will contain your link to access Zoom. If you have opted in for text reminders then you will receive this 1 hour before the session and this contains my email address so you can contact me if you have not received your call link or if you are having any issues connecting.
For the appointment I will need you to be in a location where you can safely relax without any disturbances for the full hour.
Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection and be able to set yourself an alarm for the end of the appointment, just in case we get disconnected, as this will be able to bring you out from trance.
In order for you to be as comfortable as possible, I suggest you either sit in a chair that offers head and neck support, or at least be able to put a cushion or something comfortable behind you to support your head and neck. I find a travel pillow works really well for this but even a jumper or something like that will be fine.
I will need to be able to clearly see your hands during the appointment so please be able to position yourself appropriately as this is essential to get the full benefits from hypnosis.
Other than that, just turn up, relax, and allow me to guide you from where you are to where you want to be.

Your initial consultation costs £30. Due to the level of work involved in personalising appointments and packages for my clients, I have decided to limit the number of new clients I currently take on to a maximum of 15 per month, globally.
In general, my clients notice significant improvements from just 1 appointment but it can take up to 3, which is why I have introduced the new, 'Your Breakthrough' packages for your peace of mind.
A single appointment costs £150.
Packages begin at £400 for a block of 3 appointments. Full details of all available packages can be found on the 'Packages' page linked below.
If you are doing my Life Coaching course, that is a block of ten structured appointments so that we can work through everything thoroughly. More information on that can be found below.

For single appointments, no. The full payment must be made at the time of booking.
For block packages, these can either be paid in full at the time of booking, or split between a 50% deposit and the remaining balance being paid no later than 48 hours before the first appointment.

In addition to my other services, I have found that many people have benefited from having a personalised sleep recording made for them.
Before their appointments, many clients raise concerns that they are anxious that they may not achieve permanent results following hypnosis and NLP.
Due to this, I now offer personalised sleep affirmation recordings for my clients to provide them with a form of ongoing care and reassurance that they can keep and use whenever they want.
Many of my clients, particularly in relation to weight loss, motivation, confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, and overcoming habits and addictions such as smoking, have found the recordings to give them additional long term peace of mind.
The recordings are the same sort of idea as many of the “sleep affirmation” type recordings that you can find on YouTube, however, I will record them personally for you following your first appointment. This means that they are personalised to you and your specific needs to be as effective as possible, rather than a generic online recording.
For hypnosis and NLP to work, these are not essential, but can be highly beneficial as they will give you additional repetition of your new changes. The more repetition, the faster and stronger building of new neural pathways in your brain, which will help to make your results permanent.
These recordings can be played in the background as you go about your day, though not whilst driving as the repetition can have a hypnotic effect, or you can have them looped on a low volume when sleeping.
As the recording will be yours to keep, you can return to it whenever you feel the need for some extra reassurance.

When it comes to Life Coaching, there are many different categories, though they can generally be divided into two main groups: Motivational and Transformational.
Motivational Life Coaching focusses on discussing what your goals are and coming up with steps or milestones to help you to get there with techniques such as SMART goal setting strategies.
If you have a very specific goal in mind, such as hitting a business target or achieving a new personal best in the gym, then motivational coaching can be effective and give you the map to achieve your short term goals.
If, however, your goal is more of a significant life improvement, like figuring out what you are actually passionate about in life or what changes you can make to be happier, then motivational life coaching isn’t going to get you there.
If you find yourself putting conditions or limitations on yourself like,
“I’ll be happy WHEN I have the new house/car/job/relationship…”

At Breakthrough Coaching I offer a block of Transformational Life Coaching sessions. Over the course of 10 structured sessions and an optional de-brief session, I will guide you to properly meet yourself, the real you that knows what you truly want out of life and what you need to do to get there. It is both a humbling and enlightening experience that will alter your perceptions and ways of thinking for the better.
As with all my appointments, these are done via Zoom. Generally we will have one session per week over the course of ten weeks, however, this can be adapted to work with your schedule or timescale. The shortest possible completion time for this course is to work intensively over two days, though this is not recommended for the feint of heart as it can be quite full on and not ideal via Zoom.
As it is common to have ‘epiphany’ type experiences between sessions as you begin to adapt to your new perspective, I offer email and call support between appointments should you need it. The majority of clients I have guided through this transformation have, at some point in the process, benefitted from being able to reach out and discuss their experiences between appointments. This support is included as a bonus within the course at no extra cost.
Upon completion of the course you will have a much clearer idea of yourself, your values, what you actually want in life and what will allow you to live your happiest, most fulfilled life going forward.
If paying in full, the block of 10 appointments costs £1175/$1500 which gives you a discount of over £390/$500 than if you were to pay for the appointments individually, which are priced at £160/$220.
